Praying for rain

Senior and I have been going through computer issues which explains our lack of posts this week and posting from a cell phone sucks so therfore this one will be short.  So, it looks like we will be doing some computer shopping this upcoming weekend.

Prayers please for south GA and North Florida. Well , really all of Florida. They need rain badly. Forest fires are burning at an alarming rate and things in our home state are not good. The pictures coming out of the St. Georges fire in the Okefenokee looks like a living hell. Rumor has it that unless they get significant drought busting rain that thing could burn until November.

All of our friends and family are currently okay and not in harms way, just having to deal with poor air quality due to all the smoke.

  1. I'd happily pray for rain for the Southeast as long as NONE of it comes my way. We have had soooo much rain in the past 6 months every pond/creek/ditch and most of our fields are just beyond soggy. We get a couple days of sun and then another 1-2 inches of rain. We need a month of no rain. I would be happy to bag some water up and send it down to Florida if I could figure out how. :)

Good luck with the computer shopping. DH has a fellow he found locally here who is a whizz and is very nice when older, frustrated folks show up at his shop. He fixes the problem quickly, usually right then, and charges very reasonably. A few times, he has refused to take any payment, even though it took him a half hour to straighten out the issue. Very nice guy. That is why DH doesn't go to any big box store, "what kind of service am I going to get at a big box store" he says. It may cost a little more to go buy something at Dan's, but if he has any problem, it gets fixed without hassle. And his prices are really pretty reasonable to my (NY familiar) eyes.

  2. I've been keeping a weather eye on the fires down in South Georgia and in Florida. I hope that's not a harbinger of things to come here. We are supposed to have two days of rain starting tomorrow.
